Your Time To Change
About Us

Who are we?

We are the teacher, the doctor, the physician assistant, the father, the mother, the gardener, the diabetic, the patient, the writer, the neighbor, the friend who is concerned about your health and well-being. Health is something we all share. We are volunteers with in-depth knowledge and personal experience all written on these pages for you. The rules are simple, they make sense, and they’re really not hard to follow. Bring your desire for better health and make a change for life.

Simple things we try to live by, most of the time

  • Being physically active every day and enjoying meals with others is the foundation of a healthy life style.
  • Choosing the least processed forms of plant foods. Fresh, raw and lightly cooked vegetables, fruits and whole grains retain fiber and most of their nutrients.
  • Using olive oil for cooking, baking, and for dressing salads and vegetables. Extra virgin olive oil is highest in monounsaturated fat and phytonutrients.
  • Enjoying dairy products, cheese and yogurt in moderation - preferably low–fat versions.
  • Serving poultry and fish more often than red meat. Lean red meat should be limited to several times a month.

Health Tip

Avoid “Fat Free” or “Cholesterol Free” products. Many of these items are made with Hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils and they have empty calories that can raise blood triglyceride levels. Always see your primary care provider for an individualized care plan.
